Making an Offer
When you find a home you like and can afford, be prepared to make an offer to purchase in writing. The offer should include:
- Offering price - Get recent prices of similar homes in the area in order to justify your price.
- Earnest money - Be prepared to put money down to show the seller you are a serious buyer.
- Items you would like included in the sale - ie: appliances, furnishings, window treatments...
- Contingencies - Special circumstances you want, ie: date by which the offer must be accepted, date by which the sale must be completed, repairs you would like the seller to make.
